Green Beans and A LOT of sweet potatoes

We have been off the past 2 days and are off tomorrow. It has been so nice to be at home with Miles. We have really enjoy spending time with him and not having to go anywhere. We cherish our time at home.

Miles slept until 7:30 today. I woke up at 7:00 and checked on him and he was asleep on his tummy at the very end of the bed sideways. He looked so cute and cuddly. He has been doing very well with his naps while we are off also. I think us being at home and not running errands all day help. He doesn't like to sleep while we are in public. He is too worried he will miss something. He really doesn't sleep in the car either.

We tried green beans today. He didn't like them very much. He made a face before I even put them in his mouth. I gave him cereal after about 4 bites of green beans. He still seemed hungry after the cereal so I gave him some sweet potatoes, he ate the WHOLE jar. He was not very big on sweet potatoes before, but I guess he changed his mind.
The picture is of Miles taking a nap in his bed. He LOVES his bear and monkey.
I hope everybody has a wonderful Thursday, I know we will at home.

Ice Ice Ice

We were expecting an ice storm and boy did we get it and we are still getting it. It took me an hour and a half to get home tonight. It usually takes me 25 to 30 minutes to get home. I was so nervous the whole way. I kept thinking about Miles in the back seat and praying we would make it home safely and we did. There were a few times that I wanted to pull over and have Jonathon come pick me up, but I did not and I made it home. When I got to the driveway Jonathon was looking outside and came to meet us. I couldn't make it up the driveway (I only tried twice) so I put the car in park and told Jonathon I was done. He pulled the car in the garage safely.
Miles had a good day at the sitter. Sarah said the last hour he was a little fussy. She said she would rub his gums and he would calm down. They felt a little swollen to Sarah as well.
He fell asleep on the way home so he was ready to go when he woke up. A little irritable, but did well. He figured out how to truly jump in the jumperoo. It is the funniest thing to watch.
I was thinking today and he will be 7 months next Tuesday. How time flies when you are having fun. It is so amazing how much you can love somebody the first time you see them. We are truly blessed.
Hope everybody stays warm and doesn't lose power.

Squash and Saturday activities

Today we went over to a friends house and hung out there for a couple of hours. They have a 2 year old. Miles loved watching him play basketball and play with his blocks. We had a lot of fun over there and Miles really enjoyed it.
Miles did really well with his naps today, he seems to be back on track. Two of his naps he took in his crib and fell asleep on his own. He doesn't want me to hold him and pat him to sleep anymore. At our friends house he let me, but at home he wouldn't. It is kind of sad that he doesn't want that, but he sleeps much better when he goes to sleep on his own. His morning nap was even over an hour. That is so good for him.
We tried squash today and he seemed to like it. He at it all and only made a funny face the first time. The squash isn't as runny so maybe that has something to do with it. He likes his cereal kind of lumpy.
We are expecting bad weather Monday to Wednesday. We kind of hope we have some snow days, but then that means longer school year. Oh well! It would be nice to have more days with Miles.
Hope everybody enjoyed their Saturday.

Crazy Week

This week has been crazy! We have been so busy with faculty meetings and parent involvement nights. I am glad it is over. It is amazing how time flies!

Miles has had a great week. He is so happy and so cuddly. When we get home he is so happy he starts waving at us and doing his "fake laugh." He has also started fake coughing at times. It is pretty funny to watch him when he does this. He kind of looks at us to see if he can get a reaction.

A few times this week he did not nap when we got home and did not nap very well at Sarah's. Today was a different story. I think it all caught with him. He slept a lot at Sarah's and even slept here for almost a hour. The most amazing thing is I just put him in his bed and he fell asleep on his own without crying once. That is wonderful.

We started giving him water in a sippy cup. He LOVES it. At first he would just chew on the cup, but know he will suck on it. He is still trying to get used to the jar food. He has had carrots and sweet potatoes. Tonight I mixed the sweet potatoes with his cereal and he seemed to enjoy them.

I know I say this a lot but we truly feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, healthy baby. He has brought so much joy into our lives!
I will try and post some pictures this weekend. I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!

This weekend flew by. Miles was a little irritable with his shots. He never has been too bad, but this time just a little bit. For him irritable is not bad, he is such a good baby.

We went to our friends for dinner and Miles got to interact with their son. He will be 1 this Sunday. He was all over the house and Miles would just look at him go by. We also went to my parents and ate dinner on Sunday. He LOVES watching their dog.

He is doing really well with sitting up. He can bend over to pick up toys and take them to his mouth to play with. He will then throw the toy (by waving his hands and releasing the toy) and stare at it until one of us picks it up for him. I think this might be a game for him.

I am trying to get him to go to sleep on his own in his bed again. He did it until he was 5 months. He then got sick and it stopped. He would scream until I would get him out and put him to sleep. Tonight he cried for less than 5 minutes before he went to sleep. As soon as I laid him down he started screaming, but he finally went to sleep. He is sleeping in his crib and I even had to wake him up this morning. If we can just get him to take good naps for us we will be OK, oh well at least he sleeps pretty well at night. I will try and post some new pictures next time.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

6 month DR visit

Today we went to the DR for Miles's 6 month visit. He weighs 16lbs 13oz, 27 inches long and head circumference is 17.25. He is a little above the 25% for weight and about 50% for everything else.
Miles also got his shots today. He is so funny! The first two he just looked at her and then started crying with the next two. He was done crying before I even picked him up. He is such a trooper!
This weekend is going to be busy (aren't they always). We are going to some friends for dinner on Saturday and on Sunday we are going to stop by my parents house. I have to work Monday, but Jonathon doesn't so Miles gets to stay home with daddy on Monday. I know Jonathon is looking forward to it. I hope everybody has a great weekend!

First Blog

I can't believe how fast Miles is growing. He is 6 months and is rolling everywhere. We leave the room and he has made his way to the other side. Do we see him do this....no, not until tonight. I told Jonathon that he is a closet roller. Well tonight was different. I watched him roll from one side of the room to the other. Amazing how fast they grow.

We have enjoyed watching his grow and learn new things. This week we were all on the floor and he was sitting up. Jonathon was telling him how proud he was and then we both commented that is was kind of sad that he is growing up so fast.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful, sweet and healthy baby boy!
